Hello hoomans! It’s me, George!
You might know me as the very friendly, very pawsome (and only occasionally mischievous) mascot of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. And today, I’ve got some exciting news to share...
On Sunday 27 September, I’ll be swapping my usual zoomies around Bluebell Wood for the Run for All Sheffield 10K. That’s right. Ten whole kilometres. Now, personally, I’m pretty sure I’ve already run further than that chasing squirrels, investigating lampposts and making the rounds for cuddles at Bluebell Wood... but apparently none of that counts. Humans have very strange rules.
I’ve decided to put my paws to work and take on this challenge to raise money for the incredible children and families supported by Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. It’s a place that’s very close to my heart and somewhere I’m proud to call home. After all, it’s full of amazing people who give first-class ear scratches and endless fuss.
I won’t lie, race day could be ruff. There’ll be hills. There’ll be tired paws. There may even be moments when I question my fundraising life choices. But every single paw-step will be for local children and families who rely on Bluebell Wood’s care and support. So, if you can spare a few pounds, I’d be so grateful if you’d sponsor me. Every donation, big or small, will help Bluebell Wood continue to be there for families when they need it most. And I promise I'll do my very best not to spend the entire 10K looking for snacks.
Let's do this, Sheffield! And remember... Who let the dogs out? BLUEBELL WOOD DID!
Lots of love, George - Bluebell Wood's Resident Good Boy Aspiring Sheffield 10K Superstar
